“First of all I would like to express my sincerest thanks and appreciation. Because of you, my dream is alive again. You have given me back hope in life. Thank you AHED International!”

Amjad A., a Palestinian refugee living at Askar refugee camp in the West Bank, his wife and seven children have lived in poverty for as long as he remembers. The family lives in an old one bedroom home. Amjad worked as a driver and washed cars for a living. The family barely made ends meat. Life was getting harder and harder especially with the medical expense of Abdel Rahman, Amjad’s son. Abdel Rahman suffers from Neurofibromatosis, a rare condition that causes tumors to form in the brain, tongue, spinal cord, and nerves. Abdel’s condition is incurable and is in need of surgeries regularly to remove his tumors that affect his speech and mobility.

AHED International (Baitulmaal) has given Amjad the opportunity and hope in life again. We helped Amjad establish a small business, a chicken shop. Amjad raises chickens and sells them to customers in his community. With this, we offered Amjad an everlasting change. Amjad now provides for his family and is not dependent on charity.

Through our micro-financing program, we are empowering people to become self-sufficient and generate their own income. Amjad’s story is just one of many showing the impact of our work and your generous donations. With your support, we can help many more families like Amjad’s.
