As a part of the on-going effort to serve the needs of the people in Pakistan Baitulmaal is pleased to announce the grand opening of the new vocational centers for the victims of the floods in Pakistan. Baitulmaal has provided instruction, equipment and supplies to help several local women in one of our housing project communities to learn how to sew. They will in turn sell their products and keep all the profits in order to help provide for their families. Many of the women lost their husbands in the flood and have had no education or training to pick up the task of feeding and clothing their children. By the grace of Allah, we hope this effort will prove to be a viable means for them to be self-sufficient. Click Here For Pictures of the Program Recipients Ranta Vocational Center Opening Details
With the help of Allah (swt) Baitulmaal has plans to expand the vocational facilities to serve more women and also to add additional services for both men and women. Some initial intentions are to have mechanical, farming, art and possibly even computer training for the adults. It is imperative that we continue to grow and develop the educational programs offered so that lasting change may truly become a reality. |
