1020 E. Africa Famine Relief Operation

Recipients of food supplies collect their items to begin the journey home

The Bright Side - What are we doing?

On the bright side, our teams have been able to reach many villages where the people have not left their homes in search of food & water. Because of our efforts through your support, we have been able to sustain entire villages with food and water to keep the situation under control to some extent. Baitulmaal was the only team to reach these victims so our arrival was met with great relief and gratitude. Although several of the villagers had already died, the survivors knew the arduous journey to the refugees camp was, in some cases, an even greater threat to their life.

  • Baitulmaal reached over 50 villages to deliver emergency food packages, dry milk and water.
  • Teams are on the ground coordinating continuous food distributions in the hardest hit areas.
  • Baitulmaal's President has visied the region again, his second in 2 months, to survey the area and provide additional support.
  • Partnerships with other organizations are being coordinated to deliver supplies and additional food necessities.

How You Can Help:

  • It only takes $7 to feed a person for two weeks.
  • A truck of basic live saving food supplies, worth $10,000, is enough to feed a min. of 1500 people for two weeks.
  • More food supply, drinking water, medical assistance and supplies are needed immediatly.

The Wajir Orphanage in Kenya

Baitulmaal operates an orphanage and a school with 700 kids in Wajir, Northern Kenya close to Dadaab refugee camp. Baitulmaal has been operating in this area for the last 8 yrs. With your donations, we've reached out to these affected nomadic muslim communities with water and food. The situation is now even more dire and your help in this blessed month of Ramadan is critical. We have a plan of sending trucks full of food items such as rice, dates and powder milk in the month of Ramadan.

Africa in the news
