Young Aasho is just one of the many young children who, without any parents, is a resident of the Imam Nawawi Orphanage in Gaalkacyo, Somalia. She along with her classmates attend a regular schedule of classes and activities that give her the opportunity at brighter tomorrow. Baitulmaal provides ongoing funds to support the maintenance and educational programs this orphanage provides in addition to helping with the basic necessities of clothing and food. Baitulmaal needs your help to keep supporting this and other worthy orphanages. 

There are 142 orphans in Gaalkacyo, and 47 in Bandiiradley, 50KM from Gaalkacyo. The Children ages 14-16 are in danger of being turned away due to lack of funding. If we fail to keep these children in the center, they will most certainly be recruited by militia leaders and pirates in the region. Some of the children soon to be released, are hafithul Qur'an who spent most of their lives in the center. Most of them have a potential to contribute fully to the society in few years but without your support this may never become a reality.
