Assalaamu Alaikum Brothers and Sisters,

Three years ago, Baitulmaal hit the ground running when the Pakistan earthquake hit, and through your support Baitulmaal was able to secure and send 26 containers filled with clothes, medical supplies, food, water, and a volunteer medical team to the hard hit region to render aid. Their need is just as great today, and we need your help to raise them up out of the atrocious living conditions, to provide shelter, emergency supplies, and medical assistance at a time when their need is so great.

Here they are again in the middle of a catastrophe they can’t escape, and with your help, Baitulmaal is trying to help alleviate the pain they are suffering during this crucial time. Tragedy has once again reared its ugly head.
People have escaped with merely the clothes on thief backs. Camps are filling up and new ones are being formed. It is estimated that 700 to 800 thousand will be looking for shelter. There were so many travelers that they could not be counted.

According to aid workers, more than 80% of the displaced people are women and children, then the old and disabled. Everywhere you turn, people are looking for their loved ones from whom they were separated from during the flight out of their homes. They are traumatized, injured, and most often nothing but the clothes on thief backs.
The situation grows worse day by day, and according to the UN as many as 600,000 more could be homeless as a result of this crisis. That means over 1.4 million are in need of your help to rebuild their lives in the coming weeks and months.
