Hunger: Africa Nightmare

Shackles of famine - Africa journey

I sit here numb from the shock of what I have heard. I couldn't think for a moment. I couldn't move. Then I did what I knew I had to do. I turned to you. You who have stood beside the path of goodness and mercy, the ones who have helped when others would not, or could not. We need you again today.

Of all the years I have know our Dear Sheik Hasan, and have seen his compassion for the needy people world wide, I have never heard the anguish and compassion as I did today as I did while speaking with him by phone today. It was at that point, I knew that I had to do something. I write this praying at the same time that Allah almighty will touch your hearts and in turn you will reach out to these people.

The pictures you see on TV are nothing compared to seeing them in real life. Their bodies are so frail, and they look at you, pleading with their eyes when their mouths cannot speak. Yet they don't beg. What if this is your brother or sister, What would you do? Would you leave them lying there to perish, doing nothing to help them? They in fact are our brothers and sisters, our little babies, our elderly. Someone's wife, husband, mother or dad, someone's children, someone's friend, but all belonging to Allah, just as you and I. They need us, we need your help.

Eric Williams, the filmmaker whom has accompanied Sheikh Hasan on his journey has returned and is putting together a documentary of their trip. This is just an excerpt of the film, and hope you will take the time to view it. Just go there and click on play if you would like to see first hand what the photos I sent previously did not. It is truly an atrocity that we need to be aware of. We can make a difference with just a little of your help.

Sh. Hasan has still not arrived back with his story but you will hear it first hand at the same time I do when he does arrive.
This is not just our story, but yours as well. You are our family. Our friends, our confidants, and we rely on you, so you should rely on us as well.

I know that Baitulmaal has came to you before on various projects, but this is one time I implore you to help us to help them live. We can't let them down. They see a glimmer of hope, and by the grace and mercy of Allah, we will be able to make that glimmer a reality.
It will cost approximately $6,000. per container, and another 1,000.00 to get the supplies delivered to the needy. We want to send water and cooking oil for them to be able to prepare foods for themselves. To bring nourishment and health back into their bodies, so that they might have a chance to live, as we do.

So please, give what you can. We are making this our priority to help them survive. We are crying, but they are dying. We need your help. You may call us at 972-257-2564 locally, or 800-220-9554 toll free
